2. Swelling (Edema)
- Kidneys can’t remove excess fluid properly → fluid builds up.
- Swelling appears in ankles, feet, legs, hands, or face.

- Low red blood cells → anemia → constant tiredness, weakness, and lack of focus.
4. Back or Side Pain
- Pain around the lower back or sides (flank pain) could signal kidney infection, stones, or cysts.
5. Skin Problems
- Dry, itchy skin can mean waste is not being removed from the blood.
- Mineral and bone imbalances due to kidney dysfunction may also cause itchiness.
6. Shortness of Breath
- Extra fluid can build up in the lungs → difficulty breathing.
- Anemia caused by kidney issues can also reduce oxygen delivery to the body.
7. Nausea and Metallic Taste
- Buildup of waste (uremia) can cause constant nausea, vomiting, and a metallic taste in the mouth.
- You may also notice loss of appetite and bad breath.
